2 Job Opportunities at MZUMBE UNIVERSITY, ASSISTANT LECTURER- ACCOUNTING.

Mzumbe University was established by the Mzumbe University Charter in 2007 under Section 25 of the Law on Universities. 7 of 2005 repealing the Law on Mzumbe University. No. 9 of 2001. As a Training Institute, the University has more than 50 years of experience in training in Justice, Business Management, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, Political Science and Good Governance.

The origins of the University of Mzumbe date back to 1953 when the British colonial administration established the School of Local Self-Government in the country. The school aimed to train local supervisors, local government staff and councilors. The level of training was raised after the independence of Tanzania (Tanganyika) to include training for central government officials, rural development officers and local court judges. In 1972, the then School of Local Government merged with the Institute of Public Administration at the University of Dar es Salaam to form the Institute for Development Management (IDM-Mzumbe). IDM was a higher education institution for the training of professional administrators in the public and private sectors.

Given the natural growth of the Institute over the years of successful operation and the changing needs of national and international human resources, the Government has transformed it into a fully developed public university. This was done according to the Law of the Parliament no. 21 of 2001. In December 2006, the Law on Mzumbe University no. 21 of 2001 was repealed by Law on the University of Tanzania no. leads the operation and management of the University. The University’s mandate, as set out in the 2007 Mzumbe University Charter, focuses on training, research, publishing and public service consulting.
